Michael
started in the industry at the ripe old age of 9 working with his father,
Grady Harlow.
Building houses for Grady Harlow Inc., Michael learned plumbing, heating,
electrical, and general construction. At the age of 17 he went through
one of his dad's classes, the same classes that all inspectors in the
state of North Carolina had to go through to become a inspector or move
up to level 1, 2, and 3, and became the youngest in the State of North
Carolina to ever hold a North Carolina Class I Plumbing license.
At the age of 21 he worked for one of the largest plumbing company's
in the state. He was the supervisor of 17 men on a Government Funded
HUD job, (a 4 story) Housing For The Elderly with Buffalo/ Morgan and
Associates as the engineers. After that he was doing restaurants, shopping
malls, motels, and high rise buildings.
At the age of 25 he started teaching the North Carolina Technical Code
with his father for exam preparation, insurance classes, schools maintenance
classes, engineer courses and etc.
At the age of 30 he started doing his own classes and has continued
until present. He has also done expert witness testimony and consulting
in plumbing for court cases. As you can see he has a wide range of experience
for both doing the work and instruction. Plumbers from all over the
United States have come through his classes with very high remarks.
